I love to shop the thrift stores... I always look for the potential in all the items I see. Once in a while something just jumps out at me.. and an idea pops into my head... sometimes I see something and I know there's a good use for it ...but at the moment I just don't know what it is.. So I haul these things home and pile them up in my garage and eventually.... hopefully , a great idea will come to me and, Whollaa a project is born.
There are tons of do it yourself websites. They all make these projects look so quick and easy.. Well let me tell ya.. some are ... some are NOT... depending on your skill level ..room to work and budget.. you can get yourself in a real mess. Be choosy about your projects. Alot of the things I pick up at thrift stores are other people's failed projects. Here's an armoire with drippy, chalky primer and half a Hello Kitty sticker. This, I determined had potential. so I brought this one home.( look for a future post on how it turned out. )
What were these people thinking..??? I guess they were going for a circus effect.. but REALLY... this is awful...
This piano started out at $99.00 lasted thru 3 half price Saturdays and the last I saw of it it was $49.00 and still sitting there.. Basically, someone could pick up a vintage upright piano for $25.00 .. this is too far gone ,,, too much work .. and too expensive and too time consuming.. itt's just too everything..
You have to pick your projects carefully..
